Phase 1

The Settlement School, founded in 1908, as the music program at the College Settlement, a typical turn-of-the-century settlement house offering a variety of services to newly arrived immigrant families in the Southwark section of South Philadelphia. It is an acknowledged leader in the national community school movement and, with more than 15,000 students, is the largest school of its kind in America with 6 different facilities.

The purpose of phase 1 is to prepare, by softening, the existing finish to receive a coat of urethane.  In this particular example, the chemical process with abrasion lightened this floor by removing years of dirt and  grease buildup, along areas of failing urethane.

After

Needless to say,  the customer was pleased with the service and the finish.  There was no disruption to their schedule.  The refinishing cost less than 1/2 of the price of sanding, and they shouldn't have to refinish their floors for another 5-8 years.  We currently are preparing to do another building for this customer.

Floor Repair - Before

We are in the floor repair business.  To the left is a picture of some of the parquet tiles that needed attention.  Our technicians have special training classes to repair not only parquet, but plank boards.

Floor Repair - After

To the right are the repaired boards, finished.  In this case, it is very difficult to identified the boards that were repaired.
